SANTO DOMINGO. The Dominican Free Zones Association (ADOZONA) has elected its new national board of directors for the period 2017-2019, which will be presided over by Federico Dominguez Aristy, founder of Santiago Norte Industrial Park (PISANO).
Dominguez Aristy replaces José Tomás Contreras, who will remain on the board as past president. Contreras is Executive Vice Presidente of Itablo Industrial Park (PIISA), one of the main industrial conglomerates in the Dominican Republic.
The new President of ADOZONA is an active entrepreneur in Santiago. Graduated from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in Mexico, with a post-graduate degreee in Foreign Trade and Diplomacy at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). From 2015 - 2016 held the position of Vice President of the Latin America Free Zone Association (AZFA), of which is a founding member. Since 1992, he has been a member of ADOZONA, where he has been pass treasurer, secretary and advisor of the Bard of Directors. Since 1994 is a representative in the National Committee of the Customs Services Agreement between ADOZONA - Customs (DGA) and the Free Zones Council (CNZFE).
He has also served in the public administration and the diplomatic service. From 1979 - 1985, he held several official and diplomatic positions at the Dominican Republic Embassy in Mexico, including been representative of the Industrial Development Corporation. In 1992 he returned to the Ministry of External Affairs as Honorary Advisor and from 2003 to 2012, as Honorary Ambassador. Since 2012 he has served as Ambassador, in compliance with the Organic Law of the Ministry.
Mr Dominguez has been an active member of the National Free Zones Council. From 2000-2004 served as Secretary of the Cyber Park Council of Santo Domingo, of whic he is a shareholder and current member of its council. He was also an honorary member of the Board of Advisors of the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD). Since 2009 is Vicepresident of the Mexican - Dominican Chamber of Commerce (CADOMEX).
Members of the new board of directors ADOZONA's board of directors was sworn in by the president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), Pedro Brache and is formed by Pedro Manuel García, as first vice-president; Other vicepresidents include:
Miguel Lama, Ricardo Pérez and Eduardo Bogaert. Secretary, Luis Jose Bonilla Bojos, Deputy Secretary Marco Cabral, Treasurer Claudia Pellerano and deputy Treasurer, Agustina Estevez. As managing directors were selected Gerardo Coto, Augusto Reyes, Cesar Cabral, José Miguel Clase, Hector Tamburini, Martín Rivas Capellán, Luis Emilio Rodríguez, Luis Angarita, Celso Marranzini, Tomás Oronti, and as past presidents José Tomás Contreras and Aquiles Bermúdez.
ADOZONA executive vice-presidency will continue to be led by José Manuel Torres.
ADOZONA has an advisory council of past presidents composed of Manuel Enrique Tavares, Carlos Manuel Alvarez, Fernando Capellán, José Clase and Arturo Peguero.
