A private-public trade mission, headed by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, José Del Castillo Saviñón will be participating in the "First International Forum on Free Zones", to be held during May 11th – 13th, of 2015, in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The event is coordinated by the World Free zones Organization, with the aim to analyze the influence of the regimes of free zones in the economic and social development of the different countries that have implemented such schemes.
The event will emphasized the importance of the EPZ’s as a tool for attracting investment and export development.
Other attendees from the Dominican Republic include Luisa Fernandez Duran, Executive Director of the National Free Zones Council; Alexandra Izquierdo, Director of PROINDUSTRIA; José Tomas Contreras, President of ADOZON; Claudia Pellerano, President of Las Americas Industrial Park; Augusto Reyes, President of El Limonal Free Zone, among other entrepreneurs.
According to Luisa Fernandez Duran, the aforementioned Forum constitutes an invaluable resource for the actions that he Dominican government has been undertaking towards promoting the Caribbean nation, "and specifically to our free zones sector, the ideal regime to host new investments.
Additionally, a schedule of visits to different companies and free zone parks of the country, as well as a private tour to the port and airport facilities are confirmed.
