As part of its Promotion Program for 2014, The National Free Zones Council successfully participated in MEDICA 2014, event held at Messe Dusseldorf, from November 12th to 15th.
With the collaboration of Santiago Free Zone Corporation, PROINDUSTRIA and Las Americas, Itabo, San Isidro, Santiago Norte (PISANO), La Romana and Nigua Industrial Parks; as well as Rowe and Magnachem Laboratories, the free zone sector exhibited at the country pavilion, where information and assistance was offered to all companies interested in investing and doing business with the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican mission, headed by Luisa Fernández Durán, Executive Director of the Free Zones Council, was also attended by Celso Portela and Amed Aude, executives of the Santiago Free Zone Corporation, Attly Aycock and Dave Anderson, from Remington Medical, which operates at Las Americas Industrial Park, as well as investment specialists from the Free zones Council and ADOZONA.
This event, considered the most important for the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry in Europe, took 116,000 square meters of exhibition and included the participation of 132,000 people from 120 countries. The latest technologies and advances in electronics, plastics, disposable, raw materials, sub-contracting services and suppliers of medical equipment and components were exposed at the event.
During the trade show, the Dominican team held meetings with 209 participating companies, previously selected by their capacity for growth and development in the region.
Prior to the start of this activity, a meeting with the German Business Association for Latin America was scheduled and held with the aim of coordinating opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions.
